Plastic bags are completely banned in 18 states of the country

Information given by the Central Pollution Control Board to the National Green Arbitration.

Partial bans in 12 states in India: Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Kerala and West Bengal has partially banned plastics at religious and historical sites.

No plastic ban in this state of India: 7 states in Assam, Bihar, Goa, Manipur, Meghalaya, Puducherry and Telangana have not banned plastic.

Punitive action at these places in India: Chandigarh, Diu-Daman, Dadra-Nagar Haveli, Delhi, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Manipur, Punjab, Puducherry, Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Tripura. States and Union Territories have sparked a punitive action against those who break the law within their limits.

12 States and Union Territories submitted action plans for plastic waste management regulations.

Deadline: Arbitration has directed the Pollution Control Board to submit further status report till September 30 for implementation of Plastic Waste Management Rules-2016.
