In Kargil war, the Indian Air Force also used the MiG-27, MiG-29 against Pakistan. Pakistan bombed the area where it was occupied. Several areas of Pakistan were attacked by R-77 missiles.

Bofors cannons were used in the battle of Kargil. India's 527 soldiers were killed in the war while 1363 soldiers were injured.

Since India received international support during the Kargil War, many countries in the world, including the United States, had pressured Pakistan to withdraw its troops.
